NTPC: National Thermal Power Corporation
NTPC full form is National Thermal
Power Corporation. It is a public sector company of India, headquartered at
New Delhi.
Today, it is the
largest thermal power generating company of India in terms of installed
capacity and output.
Brief History of NTPC
On 19 March 1976, Shri. D.V Kapur became the first
Chairman & Managing Director of NTPC. On 19 March 1976, Shri. D.V Kapur
became the first Chairman & Managing Director of NTPC. On 19 March 1976,
Shri. D.V Kapur became the first Chairman & Managing Director of NTPC. On 8
December 1976, the government cleared the first project of NTPC; thermal power
project at Singrauli in Uttar Pradesh.
It is a company incorporated under the Companies Act 1956 and is promoted by the Government of
India.
